- since 1995 I was mainly leaving in Magdeburg, Germany, playing for USC Magdeburg on the first boards in Bundesliga and studying in Magdeburg University

- four times junior champion of Moldavia;
- qualified three times for Soviet Junior Championships, which became famous for participation of players who later became stars (such as Kramnik, Shirov, Kamsky, Akopian, Morozevich etc)

- winner of the following international tournaments: Moscow GM tournament 1992, Chemnitz open 1997, Bucharest GM 1998, Eforie open 1998; co-winner: Lvov 1995, Hamburg 1997, 2000.
- several times Champion of Romania with the team RATB; second place in the Netherland Team Competition in year 2001, as a member of team Magnum Bussum.
- four times participated in Chess Olympiads: three times for Moldavian team, once for Romanian team in the Chess Olympiad in Istanbul 2000. Regularly playing on top boards in Bundesliga.
- participant of the FIDE World Championship, Moscow 2001. Qualified through Internet tournament.
Other chess activities
- I also have experience in Correspondence chess, since in years 1988-1993 I participated in two Correspondence Soviet Team Championships, representing my country Moldova.
- in year 2000 ChessBase released my first Opening CD-ROM "Sveshnikov Sicilian", in 2002 the second one: "The Slav Defence". In 2004 I wrote two more CDs: Dragon Sicilian, parts 1 and 2. I also was one of the authors of the CD-ROM "Emanuel Lasker".
- in year 2003 my chess book "Sicilian Defence - a Guide for Black" was released. In 2004 I expect to publish another chess book.
- constant contributor of several international and national chess publications.
- I worked with several chess web-sites, such as www.worldchessnetwork.com and www.chessbase.com, giving chess lectures and private trainings on their servers.
- in 2003 I participated in Jena at an interesting exhibition rapid match in shuffle chess variation against Tiger 15
